Self-Indulgent
by Samantha ~ May 23rd, 2009. Filed under: vanity.
Zoetica took this photo of me about a week ago as part of a “What I Wore” shoot for Haute Macabre. I was dead tired to the point where my eyes were moving independently of one another (they do that, on occasion), so I scrapped the rest of the pics and will be re-shooting sometime soon for the article.
Despite the vast amount of work I’ve done for Suicide Girls, I actually don’t like having my photo taken all that much. It always feels rather self-indulgent, and I do enough of spoiling myself in other ways.
In other news, I finished reading House of Leaves
the other night and picked up a copy of Only Revolutions
I plan on spending my afternoon with it.

I think this pic is absolutely beautiful

House of Leaves scared me so much the first time I picked it up that I had to stop reading it. I returned to it, years later, and enjoyed it a lot. I haven’t had a chance to read Only Revolutions yet, though. Let us know what you think when you finish it!

Laura : I am a page and a half into Only Revolutions, and had to put it down to look up on the internet how to read it. Seriously.
Dwam : Oh, thank you! I was SO exhausted that day that it took about 30 minutes of photoshop to just get rid of the circles under my eyes. Next time Zoe and I shoot, I will make sure to get more than 2 hours of sleep the night before. I entirely blame Battlestar Galatica.

Oooooh!
‘Only Revolutions’ is such a clever and confusing book.
You still look wicked hot for a sleepy geek and I do enjoy the stuff you’ve shot for SG.Keep up the good work!

Beautiful pic! Almost looks like you should be wielding a bladed weapon or two….
What did you think of House of Leaves?

Dave – I loved it! The other day I also picked up Poe’s album “Hauted”, which is the soundtrack to the book.
Sammy – Clever, yes, confusing, DEFINITELY. I printed out the wiki instructions for it to keep handy, and made a copy of it for my friend that I bought OR for.

Beautiful pic and I simply cannot wait to see the installment as I am lusting after your top quite badly already.
BSG. I finally began watching it about a month ago. I sit and watch it multiple DVD discs at a time. I hate sci fi but literally cannot be without it. Damn it’s awesome power!

Beth, I’m actually not going to use the pics for a WIW article. My roots are about an inch and a half long & not even Photoshop can save them.
BUT, I got that top at H&M a few years back. I doubt they’d still have it, but I’m sure you could find something like it somewhere out there.

beautiful, indeed, so much that it would stop the soul to take note
…but I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep, and a 4 PM appointment in Kasnsas City…
Cheers

If this about Danielewski is truth, “A pastiche of Joyce and Beckett, with heapings of Derrida’s Glas and Thomas Pynchon’s The Crying of Lot 49 thrown in for good measure,” then I owe you a bottle of honey liquor.
BSG, all I did for nearly a month. Hooked.

You may feel self indulgent having your photo taken, ut at least you look good doing it. I am the most non photogenic person I know.
