TC : I do have a polarizing filter, actually! And I usually shoot in AV mode to get various depths of field, but I've been experimenting a bit more in Manual lately.

Roza's set was shot using a number of strobes and umbrellas set up around the bed, but yes, I agree, some of it was a bit too bright in her surroundings.

Typically, I shoot in diffused natural light (like in Cori's set or Lilac's). I haven't had the luxury of having the income to get a strobe or soft box kit to properly learn the techniques yet.

Here's a few things to think about (you may already be doing this anyway).

- set exposure bias at +1/3 or +2/3 . this will give you a lot more light to work with in post.
- for outside shots, do you have a polarizing filter? You use 77mm lens, so the filter will be about a $70. On very bright days, they help out a lot.
- get a single strobist kit from www.mpex.com (or at least look at it). You add fill lighting, and you'll need to get used to shooting in M mode.
- the indoor pictures almost seems to have too much light, or more specifically too much light behind Roza, so that's probably an aiming issue.

On the other hand you get paid for your work and its a hobby for me. So I'll just shut the fuck up.

I hope you're feeling better after your sinus bug.

Both sets are great, but I really love Nixon's set. The second shot you've got posted, with Nixon oriented towards the camera, is absolutely brilliant!
