Q & A
by Samantha ~ July 25th, 2010. Filed under: miscellaneous magic.**Edited to add : I’ve replaced formspring with Tumblr!
Realizing that I created a Formspring account, and then promptly forgot about it, here is the second installment of Q&A! I’m answering them in the order received, of which there is absolutely no rhyme or reason to their grouping.
What’s the significance of the number 523?
Once upon a time, on a previously built version of this site, I had a very lengthy description of the meaning of the numbers. In short (mainly because I am far too lazy to try to dig out the archived version), the number 23 is the sacred number of Eris, the goddess of discord in Principia Discordia, which broken down to primary numbers is 2 + 3 = 5. This made its way into my hallucinogenic-filled brain in my early teens, and then just stuck as a set of numbers in my head ever since.
It is also the time of day I was born, on June 7, 1981.
What camera do you use most?
Despite having about a half a dozen cameras laying about my house, I actually use my iPhone more often than any of the others. Second runner up is my Canon 5D Mark 1, although I’m embarrassed at my infrequency of use as of late. I almost always have my phone on me, so it makes it a bit easier to just pull that out and take instant shots.
I think all that this means is that I need a bigger purse to carry around my good equipment!
I’ve been following you around the internets for a minute. (I’m a Lurker, sorry!) You’re amazing and gorgeous, but what do you do to pay the bills? Do you create things on the internet? Does modeling pay you that much? Starbucks?
Lurk away, comrade! That’s what the internet, and my various presences, are there for! Over the years, I have had a series of day jobs, including being a receptionist, a bookkeeper, and a bartender, that made up the bulk of my income. For some time, I was able to cover my Starbucks addiction solely from photography, a bit of modeling, and launching and running Haute Macabre, but unfortunately, with the economy being what it is, I currently am again working in the restaurant service industry.
How do you feel about bicyclists?
Like they are on two wheels and go zoom. Living in NYC, every time I see a bicyclist whoosh past, I can only imagine they have a death wish buried just underneath their flimsy safety helmet.
Where did you buy your awesome leather pants?
Sadly, I haven’t the slightest clue which pants you are referring to! I have a few pair of leathers, all of which have been living in a storage unit in Los Angeles since late last summer.
If you have anything you’d like to add to my ever-growing queue of Tumblr questions, please feel free! I’m going to make a valiant effort to answer them with a bit more frequency and group the related ones together here, maybe even along with pretty pictures to accompany them.

Bike riders, ha ha, annoying, worst is when they stand in the left turn traffic lane on their bikes, waiting to make a left turn like a car. I mean ride your bike if you want, but not like a car or you’re gonna get hurt.

How did you go from knowing Liam Lynch to moving in with him in a month to moving out and being married?
