Test Strip

by Samantha ~ July 6th, 2012. Filed under: vision.

This afternoon, I picked up the mystery roll of 35mm film that I found in my neglected Canon AE-1. The images I got back are all from our last trip to New Orleans, before we made The Move.

I adore the grit and grain, all the imperfections and flaws, in all of these images.

Most of that week was pouring, torrential rain. We hid in bars during all day, drinking and reading. It was lovely.

I think it’s dark and it looks like rain. What convinced you to make such a big move to New Orleans?Where did that decision come from?

I think I could honestly spend days upon days in that cemetery… Creating love stories of those there, how they ended up there, and what their lives had once been like… And the ghosts… my god how much fun would that be?

Excellent stuff. You really capture the mood & spirit of place … the beauty in the everyday “grit & grain.”
