Last month, I asked if a blog’s popularity came from the author posting photographs of herself frequently. The majority of your answers said that it did not, and that made me appreciate my readers even more than I did before. It’s very interesting to me that seeing photos of the author makes the reader feel more connected, as I’m always interested in my audience and their perspective and opinions of the site. Based off of that notion, I’m going to put a conscious effort in here to include more photographs of myself, but bare with me while I am still overcoming my awkward phase.

As you can see, I’m still barreling through with my 365 Photo a Day project. I only missed one day this month, although I will admit that the project is a maybe just a little bit boring. I’ve been trying to keep it interesting by shooting things other than the run of the mill “here’s my face, today, again, yup, it still looks like this”, so if you have any suggestions on keeping it fun, leave a comment and let me know!

You can follow the photos daily on my Instagram, Facebook, or on Flickr!

My cards this month have been pretty spot on. I pulled the Eight of Wands just as I was working on this post on Haute Macabre, and the Wheel of Fortune on the first day of Mercury in Retrograde. The more familiar I’m becoming with the Tarot, the more accurate my readings have been. March’s card from my Year Ahead reading on New Year’s was Temperance, so I’m looking forward to seeing how that applies in the coming weeks.

My Ovate hoodie makes me feel like I’m in a tough witch gang. Every time I wear it, I feel like I can cast spells.

Since my faithful Frye boots are in the midst of their death rattle, I treated myself to some new shoes. I treated myself to all the shoes I wanted, because sometimes, you just have to splurge a little.

Here’s a secret :: I’m most likely not wearing makeup if my eyes are out of frame or I’m covering them. If it’s not that, it means that I have a super headache and I’m hiding from the light, which is how I’ve spent most of the past week.

More photos after the jump!

I think that to the most of your readers it doesn’t really matter if you post a thousand equal photos of youself or if you go shooting fences in your neighborhood. No matter what content appears on 523, it’s interesting and cognitive. I think that the best thing about your blog is that the readers can not only see you, but actually talk to you and receive an answer to their comments, unlike the majority of other lazy blogs. And that’s what gives the ultimate feeling of connection with you.
I’ll keep my fingers crossed for your eyes to recover painlessly.

Pics are cool, but it’s the variety of subjects you post about that keeps me coming back. Also, those “I Got Mine” boots look awesome.

So far I’ve got four books waiting for me that you’ve featured.
I’ve clicked on websites that I never would have if you hadn’t found them first.
The pictures you take of everything around you are so far removed from my world.
Your blog is one of a few that I thoroughly enjoy.

I absolutely LOVE your Ovate Hoodie, I’ve always wanted one! If you don’t mind me asking how much did it coast you, Sam? I really want to buy one.

James :: I would very much like to start shooting fences in my neighborhood. Louisiana has very loose gun laws!

Mike :: They are badass! I haven’t had the chance to wear them yet, but I’m going to remedy that soon.

Victor :: Which books?! Did you enjoy them?

NightShade :: You can purchase it from her shop! I believe it was around $90-$100?

Katie :: As we all are. Princess Fatty Gut is magical.
