Nya, Posh, & Zoli in Absinthe

A touch of the green fairy for you all, which personally, I think smells and tastes like Scope infused gasoline. We shot this on the never-ending Vegas trip last February, on Valentine’s Day, a strange day for me. After receiving the news that Lou had passed, wrapping the Love Spell shoot, and feeling the first hints of the Death Plague, Absinthe started rolling. This, like the other filmed shoots that week, were really quite difficult to shoot. I was at the mercy of staying out of the film crew’s way (and frame) while they were filming, and could only jump in for close ups between their takes. It didn’t turn out exactly the way I had envisioned it when I pitched the proposal, but considering the circumstances, it came out far better than I had expected.

The half empty bottle of Absinthe wound up in my room the rest of the week, and much to the bellhop’s surprise, he was tipped with it when loading my car with my luggage the last day.

ToriBell : Time Waits for No One

ToriBell and I shot Time Waits for No One not too long ago, in a hotel room a bit north of Los Angeles. The room had the typical boring beige decor that hotel rooms typically do, and since she has such a timeless sort of beauty to her, I asked Cherry to color treat the images to match her anachronism.

Moxi’s set, All You Need, is one of the last remnants of Vegas left. We shot on the very last day of the trip, and the guilt I felt being that close to someone while in the state I was in was epic in its enormity.

† Is that mouse real? WTF?

Indeed it is! Maybe some of you remember it from the previous version of 523, but maybe you don’t. Nixon made it for me for Valentine’s Day in ’08 from bits and pieces of two mice, save for the tail, which is a rubber bungee contraption.

† What happened to the pretty lavender haired Fractal of a few years ago? She looks like a 40 year old junkie goth whore now!

Please just let the purple hair die. Call me a 40 year old (I’m almost 28, and aging gracefully), call me a junkie (even though I don’t do drugs), call me a goth (whatever), call me a whore (go fuck yourself), but just please let go of the purple hair.

That awesome location is my kitchen table, where I am sitting and typing this up this very moment. It’s amazing what Sawa’s clever lighting and Cherry’s photoshop skills can do. Usually, it is not covered in me and skulls, but it does have cats on it, more often than not.

† What is wrong with that cat? Why is she in every photo? Is she sick?

Chicken’s a Sphynx cat, which is a hairless breed, and she loves her mommy. When she isn’t napping or whining for food, she’s usually at my side, much like in the photos. She’s not sick, but she did, however, need a bath that day.

My favorite part about prepping for this set was when Sawa and I went out hunting for all those critters, killed and skinned them, than danced around my backyard wearing their skins and painted our faces with their blood.

Every specimen in my collection was purchased or obtained by legal and humane methods. None of those pieces were killed for their innards. Many of them were purchased from Necromance in Hollywood, the Bone Room in Berkley, and a few other various places. And yes, all of them are real (save for the spine model and fetal skull).
