I’ve become a little obsessed with True Blood this past week. I watched the entire first season on Apple TV over three nights, and am now trying to figure out the magic of the Land of Torrents to find Season 2. I love that it’s a Buffy for grown ups.

The opening sequence makes me want to drive through the Bayou with my lomo cameras.

Peter Pan divx Weird Al’s new album single, “Craigslist”, comes out tomorrow, and it was a family effort. Liam directed the music video, and I shot the stills for the cover and (possible) promo art. I’d like to mention that Al is one of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure to work with. Not only is he insanely smart and talented, but such an overall pleasant person to be around.

It was very strange shooting someone that wasn’t taking their clothing off. I did slip at at point when he asked how he should pose and “Just arch your back and stick out your butt” did slip out (seriously, it’s like an automatic response at this point), but thankfully he laughed – and did it, just for a second.

The video was supposed to also come out tomorrow, but by a huge demand from fans, Al released it a day early.

I’ve been hearing murmured buzz about this for a few months now, and finally took the time to Google it last night.

Needless to say, I am appalled. I am horrified. I am also not terribly surprised.

The first time I saw Rocky Horror, I was about six. My Uncle Sal let me watch it (because he’s awesome), and I thought men dressing up like women and jumping into other men’s beds was the coolest thing EVER. I promptly learned how to do The Time Warp, showed my first grade teacher, and the phone calls home about “Samantha’s odd behavior” began. I watched it every day after school all through elementary, dressed up as Magenta for every Halloween throughout Junior High, and by the time I was 14 was attending the midnight showings in the East Village. I wanted to grow up to play Lips.

“I have no view on whether it should be remade, but it doesn’t have my blessing”, says Richard O’Brien, better known to us Transilvanians as Riff Raff, whom also wrote the original book, music, and lyrics.

Thankfully, there isn’t any recent news on the subject, but help voice your opinion against the remake by signing the petition at Stop the Remake

. My name is on there, and we can all jump to the left with little peace of mind.

Hi, Internet

This was the first video I took with a Flip Mino HD. Steve is really good at making you feel uneasy.

The Flip is pretty cool, though! Not superb for low light (as you can see), and not true HD (720 as opposed to 1080) but it’s pocket sized and really easy to use. I messed up when exporting the file onto my desktop earlier and realized that if you do a straight export it will save as an mp4 rather than a .mov, but then just dumped it into iMovie and converted it from there. Now I’ll just have to teach myself some editing software and start using it a bit more. I expect the future holds many, many videos of the cats.

In other news, my shoot for today got cancelled, so I’m going shoe shopping.

Guachass is my new favorite band. They’re like Motorhead, except better because there are hot foreign chicks in it that don’t wear bras. At least, I’m pretending that they don’t, because it’s better in my head that way.
